About Me

mt_dwa_hihello-5x7 croppedHello and welcome to my blog! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. My name is Jennifer and I’m a suburbanite living in North Texas. I am married to a wonderful, loving, and incredibly patient man.

Jennifer and DeAndre

I have two dogs – Cooper and Sadie. They are a handful!

I am a part-time office manager at a private equity firm. Before becoming an office manager, I had a successful career as a retail manager for ten years. My love for design began while working retail. I loved visual merchandising and new floor changes.

I am a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business management.  I stay quite busy working and going to school full-time, but I squeeze in as many projects as I can on the weekend.

I love to read. Books are one of my favorite things and I love my Kindle. Yes, I’m a convert! Fiction, non-fiction, biographies, magazines…if it has words, I’ll read it.

I have a cookie addiction. It doesn’t matter what kind…chocolate chip, macadamia nut, oatmeal raisin. I love them all. I enjoy cooking and baking and I can’t wait to share with you my favorite recipes.

I love creating unique and beautiful décor. I love thrift stores and flea markets. I hope to inspire you with tips and tutorials that will give you the opportunity to create a beautiful home of your own.

I know many of you are as busy as me and you think you don’t have time create a home that you love. I hope to show you that with only a few hours a week and a few dollars you can create the home of your dreams.

Thank you for joining me on my journey to create a home full of laughter and grace.

My Camera

I may never be a professional photographer. However, I love taking pictures. I’m still learning the ins and outs of my camera. I’m learning as much as I can – as fast as I can. I love capturing memories and tend to find beauty in the ordinary. For those still learning, hopefully we can learn together!

Nikon D5000

I have a Nikon D5000 with both an 18-55mm VR lens and a 55-200mm VR zoom lens. I bought it as a package at Best Buy. It was the best deal I could find at the time. You can purchase the updated version (Nikon D5100) here.
